How Far Can Iran’s Missiles Reach? Trump Says Closer to Home Than You Think

Americans may be surprised to learn just how far Iran’s missile capabilities have advanced, according to President Trump. During his State of the Union Address, the president warned that Tehran’s ballistic missiles are no longer just a regional concern — they now represent a potential threat to American forces overseas, and eventually to the United States itself.

Trump told lawmakers that Iran has already developed missiles capable of hitting European targets and striking US military installations around the world. He warned that Iran is actively working to extend that range further, with the eventual goal of developing weapons capable of reaching American soil.

The president framed this missile threat as part of a broader pattern of dangerous Iranian behaviour, including the alleged resumption of nuclear weapons development. He accused Iran of pursuing what he called sinister ambitions, even as nuclear negotiations between Washington and Tehran continue.

Two rounds of talks have been held this month alone, Trump revealed, and he expressed some hope that a diplomatic solution remains possible. But he reiterated that any deal must include Tehran’s firm, public, and unconditional commitment to never build a nuclear weapon.

Trump tied the missile warning to last year’s Operation Midnight Hammer, the US strike on Iranian nuclear facilities that he said delivered a decisive blow to Tehran’s weapons programme. The combination of growing missile capabilities and renewed nuclear activity, he warned, makes finding a lasting diplomatic solution all the more urgent.
