Residents in southern Luzon, Philippines, should prepare for heavy rainfall overnight and into Wednesday as easterly winds bring moist air from the Pacific Ocean. The areas at risk include Quezon, Rizal, Laguna, Aurora, the Bicol Region, Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, and northern Palawan. While rainfall is generally expected to be light to moderate, some locations may experience heavier downpours.
In the Visayas region, Western Visayas is predicted to receive the most rainfall, with cloudy skies and scattered showers and thunderstorms also likely in Eastern Visayas. The potential for moderate to heavy rain raises the risk of flash floods and landslides in vulnerable areas.
Northern Luzon is forecast to have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rain, attributed to northeasterly winds. Meanwhile, Metro Manila, Central Luzon, and other parts of Calabarzon may encounter partly cloudy conditions, along with isolated showers and localized thunderstorms.
Across Mindanao, the weather is expected to be generally fair in the morning, with partly cloudy to sunny skies. However, localized thunderstorms may develop during the afternoon and evening, particularly in Northern Mindanao, the Caraga region, and the northern Zamboanga Peninsula.
Authorities advise residents in areas prone to flooding and landslides to stay updated on weather reports, carry umbrellas, and take necessary precautions during periods of heavy rain to ensure safety.
